Writing an RSS feed An email request flew through my inbox from a local developer wanting to create an RSS feed from one of his sites. He is using ASP.NET and C# (although VB.NET samples are cool) and needs to create the RSS on the fly as he doesn’t have access to the file system and the datasource is a SQL database. Hmmm, I thought I had seen a few articles on this very topic. A quick search on google found 3 good articles: Syndicating Your Web Site’s Content with RSS and ASP.NET Create a valid RSS 2.0 document using XmlTextWriter Build an RSS Generator Component I’m confident he will find the answer and code up a storm!!! Comments Anonymous March 22, 2004 Hi, Frank: There’s also a good sample in the April, 2004 issue of MSDN Magazine, “All About Blogs and RSS,” but it doesn’t look like the article is online yet. The code may be available here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/code04.aspx Anonymous March 22, 2004 I have used http://rss-net.sourceforge.net/ and it’s sweet. Anonymous March 22, 2004 I’ve got one here as well (picking from a SQL db): http://www.uberasp.net/getarticle.aspx?id=17 Anonymous March 23, 2004 LSN WebLog » Writing an RSS feed Additional resources Last updated on 2004-03-22
